Hope you enjoy learning more about your ancestors.

Hello this is Rudy Isaacson commenting on this blog.   Three people are the ones that really made this site happen.  They are Rebecca Isaacson, Ray Isaacson and Derrick Isaacson.

A very special  "THANK YOU" goes to those ancestors we honor as we read and listen to their stories, their trials, successes and challenges while raising families and leaving us a legacy!

This blog will have information and pictures added at a later date.   This blog was last updated on July 16, 2016.   When additional items are added the date of the change will be posted here.
If  you have any comments or suggestions please contact me at rudy.isaacson@gmail.com

I challenge  you to answer the 10 questions below.

1. Who had both of her parents die by the time she was barely 18 years old?  This person and her brother then took over raising her four younger brothers and sisters.

2. Who lived with Utah Indians and helped them when they came to town?

3. Who is the midwife that received a blessing by Church leaders that she would never loose either a mother of child that she assisted?

4. Who was not a member of the Church when he first saw the Salt lake Temple?   When he saw it he wondered if he would ever be able to enter it.

5. Who is the eight member family that, when they arrived in Utah, lived in a one room house?

6. Which ancestor built a large 16 foot ski boat, from scratch over several months, in his living room?  What was the name of his most understanding wife?  How did he get it out of the house?

7. Which ancestor can trace her ancestry directly back to Adam and Eve?   This ancestry includes kings and queen of different countries.

8.  Which ancestor was assigned to guard duty every third night to protect against Indian raids?  Several people had been massacred by the Indians who raided and stole livestock.

9. Who is the ancestor that crossed the plains to Utah?  She could have ridden in a mule wagon train owned by Porter Rockwell.  The record states that Porter Rockwell flirted with her so much that she decided to walk.

10. Which of your ancestors walked bare footed on 12 feet of red hot coals and did not get burned?

More and more important stories and photos are being added to FamilySearch.org. These new additions are for Alfred J. Tame and his wife Mary Ann Saville (Tame).  These are Mildred's Grandparents.   Each grandparent has a short story.  Mary Ann Saville's mother, Mary Ann Wright Saville, wrote to poem to her daughter when she left home for the United States.  The poem is also recorded in FamilySearch.org.

Henrietta McKay has an interesting story recorded about her.  It is recorded in the overland trails data base in a journal by William Gibson.   Henrietta was headed to Salt Lake City on a mule train commanded by Porter Rockwell.   William states in his journal that Porter became "to familiar" with her such that she got off and walked half way to Salt Lake.  Henrietta's record states that she got off to give her seat to a mother.  Two different stories.  You decide which one you like the best.

My history includes a section by my twin brother, Ray Spencer.  He adds some different views which are important.   Click here to view Ruth's history

Ruth wrote letters from San Jose California to our family in Utah.   Mildred Isaacson kept them and gave them to Ruth before Mildred died.   Her letters have been scanned.  You are able to search for any word or family name.   The system will find every occurrence of that word and display it for you.

Here is the link to download all of Ruth's letters.   When the document displays click the download link on the top right side of the screen to download the entire file.
